Car Won't Start

You maybe should've planned ahead. Can you not take the bus or an uber?
I can't afford an Uber right now. If I take the but I'll still be late to arrive with the current bus schedule. If you are able to reimburse the cost of an Uber I can take one now and still arrive on time. But I also need my car for a doctors appointment I have this evening, so I need to take care of this issue right now.

Don't be afraid to ask your company for help with getting you to work sooner. Often they will reimburse the cost of an Uber or help by sending someone to assist you with your car troubles. This is especially true for larger organizations. You can learn a lot about your company and your manager by the way they respond to a stressful situation.
